Roll Call Private Henry W Cunningham – 7 April 1945

Henry William Cunningham was born and lived in South East London, he enlisted into the General Service Corps and volunteered for airborne forces.

Private Cunningham successfully completed his parachute training and was posted to C Company, The 12th (Yorkshire) Parachute Battalion. He took part in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

Pte Cunningham was killed in action on 7 April 1945, aged 20. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial.
