Henry Jones, son of Edward and M E Jones, of Pentre Broughton, Denbighshire, served in 3rd Battalion of Royal Welch Fusiliers, and then volunteered for the airborne forces.
Private Jones qualified as a military parachutist on course 21/22 at RAF Rimgway in August 1942 and was posted to the 3rd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment and took part in Operation Torch in North Africa.
Pte Jones was Killed in Action during an attack on Green Hill on 6 January 1943, aged 26. He is commemorated on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial.
