Warrant Officer Class 1 Henry C F Allen

Henry Charles Frank Allen was the son of Albert and Elizabeth (Vidler) Allen; husband of Florence Emily (Lazell) Allen. He enlisted in The Queen’s Royal Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces.

Warrant Officer Class 1 (R.S.M.) Allen successfully completed glider training and was posted to 12th (Airborne) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment and took part in operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing).

W.O.1 Allen was killed in action on 2 April 1945, aged 33, and was given a field burial at Lengerich and was re-interred to Reichswald Forest War Cemetery on 28 April 1947.
