Private Hedley John Vicary, son of James and A J Vicary, of Brandninch, Devon, served with 12th (Yorks) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord.
Private Vicary died on 6 June 1944, aged 23 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
