Lieutenant Gordon Lawrence Revnell B.A. (Oxon).

28 Jan 1916 - 23 Jul 1944

Gordon Lawrence Revnell was the son of Revd. Arthur Jesse and Lily Alice Louisa (Barker) Revnell, he was granted a commission and volunteered for Airborne Forces.

Lieutenant Revnell successfully completed parachute training and also glider training, and was posted to 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry, and took part in Operation Overlord (D Day landings).

Lt Revnell was killed in action on 23 July 1944, aged 27, and is commemorated on the Bayeux Memorial to the missing.
