Private George William Holdroyd, son of Hubert and Jessie Holdroyd, of Paddock, Huddersfield, served with 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Normandy campaign, during Op Overlord.
Private Holdroyd died on 26 August 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
