Private George Hignett, husband of Phyllis Hignett, of Middleton-by-Wirksworth, Derbyshire, served with 10th Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Private Hignett died on 19 September 1944, aged 22 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, nr Nijmegen.
