Geoffrey Morgan was enlisted into The Royal Artillery during World War II and transferred from 56 Training Regiment to the airborne forces in 1943.
He qualified as a military parachutist on Course 73 which ran at RAF Ringway from 19 to 28 July 1943 and joined C Company, 2nd Parachute Battalion as a reinforcement following their actions in Sicily.
He deployed with 2nd Para Bn to Italy and Arnhem, where he was taken as a prisoner of war and held in captivity until Spring 1945.
