Private Gary J S Edminson

Gary grew up in the 70's and 80's and always wanted to be a soldier.

He joined the RAOC early 1985.

He was then posted to Aldershot straight after basic training, joining the elite 5th Airborne Bde, Log Bttn unit of 82 PARA Ordnance Corps. Also the British Rapid Reaction Force.

​​​​​​Gary was also part of a protection unit guarding the then secret Challenger Tanks when being transported overseas by sea.

​Since then he has run many small businesses over the years. Gary is still in touch with many of his former army friends from 23 PARA PFA MEDICS, 27 PARA RCT and 3 PARA (including one who went SAS).

Gary was honored to serve under Sir General Michael Rose (SAS Commander) at this time.

Gary was also proud to meet and briefly chat to the Queen (RIP) when detailed at Mons Officers Mess, Aldershot.

Gary is Jewish and has friends serving in the Israeli IDF. Gary took part in Ex. "Brave Defender" and other exercises in Germany. He also took part in various operations too.
