Private Frederick W Brookes

Private Frederick William Brookes was the son of William and Minnie Brookes, and the husband of Mary Elizabeth Brookes, of Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent. He served with 2nd Parachute Battalion and was part of the invasion force sent to Italy in September 1943.

Private Brookes died on 8 September 1943, aged 34 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Cassino War Cemetery, Italy.
