Private Frederick Ashton Smith served with 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Border Regiment and took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
He died on 25 September 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
