Sergeant Ernest Sidney Hounslow was the son of Frank and Ethel Bessie Hounslow, and husband of Joan May Hounslow, of Islington, London. He served with 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy, during Op Overlord.
Sergeant Hounslow died on 6 June 1944, aged 24 years old. He is now buried at La Delivrande War Cemetery, at Douvres-la-Delivrande, near Caen, Normandy.
