Gunner Ernest Moore

Ernest Moore was the son of Mrs M E Moore, of Anerley, Kent. He enlisted in the General Service Corps and volunteered for Airborne forces.

Gunner Moore successfully completed glider training and was posted to 2 Airlanding Anti-Tank Battery, Royal Artillery, and took part in Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).

Gnr Moore was killed in action on 26 September 1944, aged 22, he has no known grave and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
