Private Ernest Jack Brookes, husband of Margery L Brookes, of Higher Broughton, Salford, Lancashire, served with 2nd Parachute Battalion. He took part in the North African campaign.
Private Brookes died on 30 November 1942, aged 24 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia.
