Private Ernest Herbert Cole, son of William Robert and Florence Cole, of Deptford, London, served with 2nd Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
He died during the battle, between 18-25 September 1944, aged 22 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
