Corporal Edward Stanley Prince volunteered for airborne forces during World War II.
He attended Parachute Training Course No 76, which ran at RAF Ringway from 2 August to 13 September 1943, as part of a course cadre consisting of 162 personnel. Fairly high winds prevailed on this course and there was one fatality.
Cpl Prince was posted to 224 Parachute Field Ambulance after qualifying as a military parachutist.
He was wounded while taking part in the Normandy landings as part of the 224 PFA HQ in June 1944.
