Private Ebenezer Cochran MM

Private Ebenezer Cochran MM served with 9th Battalion Royal Fusiliers and was awarded a Military Medal for actions on 1 May 1943.

Pte Cochran volunteered for airborne forces and undertook parachute jump training in Kabrit on Course 57 which ran 1 to 11 August 1943, a week before his MM was announced in London Gazette on 19 August 1943.

Pte Cochrane MM was posted to The 11th Parachute Battalion.

He jumped on the second lift of Operation Market Garden on 18 September 1944 and was Killed in Action on 23 September.

Pte Cochran MM has no known grave and is commemorated on panel 9 of the Groesbeek Memorial to the Missing, Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, nr Arnhem.
