Donald Arthur Watson enlisted into The Royal Artillery and volunteered for airborne forces in June 1942.
He undertook parachute training course 20 at RAF Ringway and completed two jumps form the balloon and five from an aircraft. Course 20 ran from 27 July to 3 August 1942.
Lance Corporal Watson was posted to 1st (Airborne) Divisional Provost Company CMP.
Corporal Watson then served with 2nd Independent Parachute Brigade Provost Section CMP in Italy and Greece. Records show that Corporal Watson was wounded but it is not known where.
