Private Donald R Schwartz

Donald Reginald Schwartz  was born in 1924, at Mosborough Derbyshire

Donald  enlisted into the General Service Corps.

Private Schwartz volunteered for airborne forces while serving with The Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment). He married Lily Hirst  in the second quarter of 1944. 

Pte Schwartz served with The 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion and was Killed in Action aged 20 years on 6 June 1944 in Normandy on Operation Overlord. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Memorial at Bayeux War Cemetery, Normandy.
