Dennis William Robert Perryman, son of William and Florence Perryman; husband of Vera Perryman, of Kingswood, Bristol, enlisted in the Gloucestershire Regiment and then volunteered for airborne forces.
Sergeant Perryman successfully completed his parachute training at RAF Ringway on 4 Advanced course from 3 to 7 January 1942, and was posted to HQ Company 3rd Battalion Parachute Regiment, he took part in Operation Slapstick (Italy) and Operation Market Garden (Arnhem).
Sgt Perryman was killed in action alongside Major James Houston (CO HQ-Coy) between 19 and 25 September 1944, aged 28, in the Oude Kraan area of Arnhem. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Groesbeek Memorial to the missing.
