Private Dennis T Cottle

Dennis Thomas Cottle was the son of Thomas and Emma Cottle, of Monks Risborough, Buckinghamshire. He enlisted in the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and volunteered for airborne forces.

Private Cottle successfully completed glider training and was posted to 2nd (Airborne) Battalion, Ox and Bucks Light Infantry, and took part in Operation Overlord (Normandy).

Pte Cottle was killed in action on 10 June 1944, aged 20, and was buried in Ranville War Cemetery, Calvados, France.
