Private Denis Delahunt

Private Dennis Delahunt volunteered for The Parachute Regiment from the Royal Army Service Corps, and attended parachute training corps number 72 at RAF Ringway between 12 to 23 July 1943. His course report stated: 'keen, willing worker. Full of talk. Good parachutist.'

Pte Delahunt was posted to HQ Company The 3rd Parachute Brigade and took part in the D-Day landings to Normandy on 5-6 June 1944.

Pte Delahunt died on 6 June 1944, aged 20 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
