Pte David John Treasure was a member of 7 Platoon, ‘S’ Company, 1st Parachute Battalion.
David Treasure enlisted into the Royal Welsh Fusiliers on the 12 September 1940. [1] He volunteered for Airborne Forces and completed Parachute Course 35 at RAF Ringway, 19 October – 7 November 1942. [2]
‘Dave’ Treasure was a re-enforcement to the 1st Parachute Battalion whilst they were in North Africa, where he was assigned to 7 Platoon, ‘S’ Company. He also took part in the parachute operation to capture the Primosole Bridge in Sicily, 13/14 July 1943.
He did not take part in Operation Market-Garden, as he was struck down with malaria, and hospitalised. He transferred back to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers on the 8 September 1945. [1]
