Captain Cyril Edward Hingston Martin was the son of Brig Cyril Gordon Martin VC, CBE, DSO also of Royal Engineers, and Mabel Martin, of Christow, Devon. He served with 2nd Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers during the Italian campaign.
He died on 28 February 1944, aged 24 years old. He is now buried at Sangro River War Cemetery, Italy.
