Clement Brown from Willenhall, West Midlands, served with the 2nd Battalion The South Staffordshire Regiment in No 13 Platoon, B Company.
He took part in Operation Market Garden and swam across the river Rhine when forces withdrew on the night of the 25/26 September 1944.
