Trooper Christopher Tonks, son of Harry Edward and Maud Hester Tonks, of Merton Park, Surrey, served with 6th Airborne Armoured Recce Regiment, Royal Armoured Corps. He took part in the Normandy campaign, during Op Overlord.
Trooper Tonks died on 20 August 1944, aged 20 years old, and is now buried at Putot-En-Auge Churchyard, Normandy.
