Charles Campbell McIntyre, son of Charles Campbell and Magdalen Mary McIntyre and nephew of Elsie Boorman, of Stoneleigh, Epsom, Surrey, enlisted in the Gordon Highlanders. He then transferred to the London Scottish before he volunteered for the airborne forces.
Lance Sergeant McIntyre attended parachute course 17 at RAF Ringway from 7 to 12 July 1942 and was then posted to the 3rd Battalion, the Parachute Regiment and took part in Operation Torch in North Africa.
L/Sgt McIntyre was Killed in Action on 6 January 1943, aged 21. He is commemorated on the Medjez-El-Bab memorial.
