Corporal Austin Lyons, son of John and Emma Jane Lyons, of Sykeside, Lancashire, served with 13th (South Lancs) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the Normandy campaign, during Op Overlord.
Corporal Lyons was killed on 19 August 1944, aged 23 years old. He is now buried at Putot-en-Auge Churchyard, Normandy.
