Aubrey Woodward was the son of Thomas Harold and Elizabeth Mary Woodward, he enlisted for National Service and volunteered for Airborne Forces.
Private Woodward successfully completed parachute training and was posted to 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, Army Air Corps.
Pte Woodward was killed in action on 25 October 1947, aged 21, and is commemorated in Khayat Beach War Cemetery E. B. 10. Israel and Palestine (Including Gaza).
