Arthur Pritchett son of Charles and Eliza Pritchett, of Clive Vale, Hastings, Sussex enlisted into The General Service Corps.
Whilst serving with The Black Watch he volunteered for airborne forces.
He was posted to the 12th (Yorkshire) Parachute Battalion and jumped into Normandy on Operation Overlord.
Private Pritchett died on 12 June 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy after being reinterned there on 5 July 1945.
