Lance Corporal Archibald Fordyce Docherty was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Docherty, and husband of Isabel Mary Murray Docherty, of Rothesay, Buteshire. He served with 250 (Airborne) Light Composite Company, Royal Army Service Corps.
He took part in the Battle of Arnhem during Op Market Garden and was killed on 23 September 1944, aged 38 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
