Anthony Alibone, known as Tony to everyone was born in Leicester in 1946 to James and Mary. James was serving in the Royal Artillery. He also had a sister Clare and a brother Ray.

Tony joined the Parachute Regiment in 1965. Tony successfully completed parachute jump instruction on Course 621. This course consisting of 8 jumps from Hastings aircraft ran between 14 June and 8 July 1965.  He then joined 3 PARA.

It was whilst he was stationed in Aldershot he met Sally who was in the WRAC and had Three children, Samantha, Scott and Aaron. Tours of Northern Ireland, Guyana, Kenya and Cyprus followed before he decided to transfer to 664 PARA SQN AAC. Tony reached the Rank of WO1 and ended his career as RSM of 1Regt AAC in Hildesheim, Germany. He settled in Spalding, Lincolnshire with Sally and lived there till his death in 2007 from Oesophagus cancer. He was cremated as was his wish and a plaque placed upon the Benches in Aldershot Military Cemetery.
