Pte Allan Frederick Tupper was the son of George and Alice Tupper, of Romsey, Hampshire.
He enlisted into The Devonshire Regiment and volunteered for service with The Parachute Regiment during World War II.
Pte Tupper qualified as a military parachutist on Course 121, which ran at RAF Ringway from 19 June to 1 July 1944, joined 3rd Parachute Brigade as a reinforcement and was killed in action while serving with Brigade Headquarters during Operation Varsity, the Rhine Crossings into Germany.
Pte Tupper died on 25 March 1945, aged 23 years, and is now buried in Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Germany.
