Private Alfred R Kuttner

Private Alfred Ralph Kuttner was the son of Hermann Kuttner, and Elsa Kuttner, of Milan, Italy.

He initially enlisted and joined the Pioneer Corps, before transferring to Airborne service. He joined 8th (Midlands) Parachute Battalion are successfully completing Parachute Course 92 at RAF Ringway in early December 1943. He went on to take part in the D-Day landings to Normandy on 5-6 June 1944, during Op Overlord.

Private Kuttner died on 6 June 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Banneville-La-Campagne War Cemetery, near Caen, Normandy.
