Private Alfred E Andrews

Andrews joined Junior Para in September 1975. He joined 12 Platoon, after a short spell with that platoon he then spent two years as a member of the Pegasus Gymnastics Team.

In 1977 he joined 442 platoon Recruit Company which amalgamated with 443, as 442 became fire fighters during the fireman’s strike in 1977. 

Eventually he passed out of recruit company in May 1978 to join B coy 3 Para stationed in Osnabruck Germany. Missing out on the trip down south in 1982 due to an operation on his right arm after returning from the Oman a month earlier. 

Medically discharged in 1983.
