Signalman Alexander W Thompson

Signalman Alexander Wilson Thompson was the son of Francis James and Mary Christina Thompson of Liverpool, and husband of Hilda Thompson, of Speke, Liverpool. He served with 1st Airborne Divisional Signals, Royal Corps of Signals.

He took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden. He died on 25 September 1944, aged 28 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
