Lance Corporal Alastair Grant, son of James and Jessie Grant, of Glasgow, served with 7th (Airborne) Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers. He took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Lance Corporal Grant died in the Battle between 19-20 September 1944, aged 39 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
