Walter William Clark enlisted in June 1940 into the 8th Battalion Dorsertshire Regiment (8th Dorsets).
In 1941 the 8th Dorsets became the 105 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment (105 LAA Regt). Private Clark served with 105 LAA Regt in North Africa and briefly returned to the Dorsets and went to Italy.
While in Italy in August 1944 he volunteered for airborne forces and undertook parachute jump training in Italy and gained his wings in November 1944.
Pte Clark returned to the UK in June 1945 and went to The Army Air Corps/Airborne Forces Depot based at Albany Barracks on the Isle of Wight and was demobbed from there in July 1946.
