Percival William James Howes was the son of William James and Florence Malinda Howes of Keynsham, Somerset and husband of Lilian Howes also of Keynsham.
Gunner Howes enlisted into the Royal Artillery during World War II and was posted to the 53rd (Worcestershire Yeomanry) Airlanding Light Regiment RA.
He saw active service in Operation Varsity (Rhine Crossing), where he was killed on 24 March 1945.
Gunner Howes is now buried at the Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Germany.
