William Timothy Davies was the son of Henry James Davies and Blodwen Emily Davies, of Wallasey, Cheshire.
He enlisted into the Royal Signals and volunteered for airborne forces during World War II.
L/Cpl Davies spent a month on ground training at Hardwick prior to qualifying as a military parachutist on course 20, which ran at RAF Ringway from 27 July to 3 August 1942.
He served with 1st Airborne Divisional Signals and was killed in the same incident as Signalman Jack Metheringham during the Italian campaign.
L/Cpl Davies died on 20 November 1943, and is now buried alongside Sigmn Metheringham at Bari War Cemetery.
