Brigadier Lindsay Valentine Francis 'Guy' Fawkes was a Royal Artillery officer who won an MC and DSO during World War II.
He received a Mention in Despatches for his service in Korea.
In 1955, he commanded 33 Parachute Field Regiment and saw active service in Cyprus in operations against EOKA terrorists and in Egypt during the Suez crisis.
He eventually rose to the rank of Brigadier and retired from the Army in 1968.
