Sapper John Stobie was the son of William George Brotherson Stobie and Elizabeth Adamson Stobie, of Berwick-upon-Tweed. He served with 591 (Antrim) Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers and took part in Rhine Crossing, during Op Varsity.
Sapper Stobie died on 24 March 1945, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at Reichswald Forest War Cemetery, Kleve, Germany.
