Private Thomas Durber, son of Joseph and Mary Durber, of Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, served with 1st Battalion, Border Regiment (Airborne). He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Private Durber died on 21 September 1944, aged 19 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
