Lieutenant Trevor Victor Patrick McNabb was the son of Thomas Benbow McNabb and Gladys Mary McNabb, of Kensington, London. He served as the Intelligence Officer for HQ Troop 1st Airborne Recce Squadron, Reconnaissance Corps. After earning a Mention in Despatches for his actions in during the Italian campaign, he took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Records indicate he was captured and placed onboard a POW transport lorry which was sent to Brummen on 23 September 1944. He was among those injured when several prisoners onboard were shot. Although he survived and was cared for at Catholic Hospital in Enschede, he subsequently died of his wounds.
Lieutenant McNabb died on 27 September 1944, aged 22 years old. He is now buried at Enschede Eastern General Cemetery, Overijssel, Holland.
