Trooper Peter Sutherland Reid was the son of Maj Peter Reid MB, ChB, DPH, RAMC, and of Alice Isabella Reid (nee Simpson), of Buckie, Bannffshire. He served with 1st Airlanding Recce Squadron, Reconnaissance Corps, and took part in the invasion of Italy, during Autumn 1943.
Trooper Reid died on 11 September 1943, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at Bari War Cemetery, Italy.
