Private Clifford Edge was the son of George William and Ethel Edge, and husband of Elizabeth Edge, of Miles Platting, Manchester. He served with 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Border Regiment and took part in the glider insertion to the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
Private Edge died on 19 September 1944, aged 25 years old. He was initially given a field burial near Sonnenburg House, along Hoofdlaan and is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
