Private Robert Jackson, son of J T and Elizabeth Jackson, of Stanwix, Carlisle, served with 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Border Regiment. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
He died of wounds on 23 October 1944, aged 21 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
