Lance Sergeant Garfield Jones was the son of Hywel and Joan Jones and husband of Mary Jones, of Ystradgynlais, Glamorgan. He served with 3rd Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers and took part in the Normandy campaign.
He died on 7 June 1944, aged 28 years old. He is now buried at Ranville War Cemetery, Normandy.
