Lance Corporal Leo Joseph Ackland, son of William and Elsie Ackland, of Erdington, Birmingham, served with 4th Parachute Squadron, Royal Engineers. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
He died on 20 September 1944, aged 25 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
