Private James Marshall, son of John and Mary Marshall, of Girvan, Ayrshire, served with 7th (Airborne) Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers. He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden.
He died between 25-26th September 1944, aged 34 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
